7 Mark 1:1-8, “A Model to Follow” John the Baptist was called to a ministry of preparing the way for the coming of Jesus. We are called to a similar ministry. John the Baptist offers us a good model to follow as we go about our ministries.
14 John 1:6-8, 19-28, “It Happened Once” Living in the reality of Jesus’ incarnation—his life death and resurrection—allows us to live each day prepared and ready for the coming of Jesus Christ.
21 Luke 1:26-38, “Personal Involvement” When Mary received her call to be the mother of God, she realized that she could not say “No” to God. Mary had to become personally involved in God’s plan of salvation. Christianity is not a spectator sport. We are part of the team that is playing on the field. We need to become personally involved.
24 Isaiah 9:2-7, “The Light Overcame the Darkness” A broken world existed in darkness—it was lost and confused. But, it was not forgotten. God sent his son, the light of life, to pierce and dispel the darkness and to overcome evil.
28 Luke 2:22-40, “Destiny” Jesus was the fulfillment of God’s promises. Jesus’ life, death and resurrection, had been seen from the beginning of time. It was part of God’s plan. God has a plan for us and for the world. Like Jesus, it might not be an easy life, but it is a life of meaning and purpose

4 John 1:10-18, “God Among Us” God has come and walked among us. We have beheld his characteristics and his glory. God presence has given us new life.
11 Mark 1:4-11, “Adopted” When God comes into our lives, we not only receive the forgiveness of sins, but also new life, and we are adopted into the family of God.
18 John 1:43-41, “Called” We do not choose to be disciples of God, but rather we are chosen by God. Discipleship is not only a responsibility, but also a privilege that opens us up to the abundant life.
25 Mark 1:14-20, “The Cost of Discipleship” Salvation is free. There is a cost, however, to following Christ and being his disciple, servant and witness.
