The chorus of an old hymn goes, "Count your many blessings. Name them one by one, and
you'll be surprised at what the Lord has done." This is certainly true at Desert Streams
Church. God has been moving in our congregation and in our lives in truly wonderful ways.
The Lord has blessed us with 8 acres of land at the fantastic location of Reems Rd and
Hearn Rd. We purchased this land for the unbelievable price of $496,000.00! True, we do
have the awesome task of paying for the land, but already we have received $40,000.00
from the West Valley Lutheran Thrift Store and additional funds from from individual mission
partners that is designated for the land. Currently the amount owed on the land is a little
over $450,000. A Building Fund has been set up so that you can contribute to the land if
you are so led.
Five people have contributed a total of $900.00 towards Desert Streams' Baptismal Font.
The font will partially be built from stone found on the land. Though it will be a while before
we can actually build the font, this gift demonstrates the support people have for our
emerging congregation.

have informed Desert Streams Church that the congregation will receive a mission partner
gift of $100.000. This gift is part of the Mission Emphasis Program of the two congregations.
Certainly this gift is part of an answer to prayer to pay down the $450,000 that is still owed
on the future building site at the intersection of Reems and Hearn. Some of these funds can
also be used in ministries to reach out to the community and grow as a congregation.
People associated with Desert Streams are asked to prayerfully consider how God might be
leading Desert Streams to use this money in ministry. They are asked to share their
thoughts and ideas with Pastor Kevin and Faye, or members of the Leadership and
Organizational Teams. Together we will discern God's will and use this money to impact lives
with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
